My teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of education revolves around the incorporation of learning into every day life. I feel that because of my diverse cultural background I can guide my students to appreciate and understand the vast range of human cultural experiences as captured in art and language. I also believe that teachers give students tools for life. These tools can help students to make decisions to develop their knowledge, to think about situations, and to help make them prepared for their future life.

Q: What made you want to be a teacher?
A: I started to work for the "English as a Second Language" program for foreign children coming from all over the world. The children in this program were coming to school eager to learn a new language and a new culture in spite of the many difficulties that may be present in their lives. They soon became part of my daily inspiration. I wanted to become a teacher because it is not just a rewarding career but a giving mission.

Q: What is one of your favorite places to visit? Why?
A: I like to travel and appreciate different cultures and local art. I have been in the USA for 22 years and I enjoy visiting beautiful and natural parks. I visited several different states and appreciate their natural beauty. I also traveled in Europe and visited different beautiful European countries. Of course my heart is Italian and Italy is my favorite place to visit since I grew up there and all my family still lives there. One dream I have, I would like to visit "Down Under" someday.

Q: What is your favorite artist?
A: I have a great admiration and respect for many artists from different artistic movements in time. I appreciate artists around the world and how they express and communicate ideas and cultures. But if I have to choose just one, I will say Antonio Ligabue. This artist was recognized after World War II. His life and his way of living in solitude seems to parallel VanGogh's life. I like the way Ligabue expresses the importance of the strength in nature through vibrant colors.

Q: What is your favorite season and holiday?
A: My favorite season is summer, I grew up on an island and I love sunny warm days, especially near the water. I enjoy walking, painting and going on a boat ride during summer. My favorite holiday is Easter because all nature seems to be reborn and more colorful after a long, cold, depressing winter.
