About Mrs. Terpstra

1. Can you give us a rundown of your responsibilities at CTA.
Math instructor for grades 9-12, Senior Class Advisor, Driver Ed. Coordinator.

2. How long have you been teaching at CTA?
This fall is the beginning of my 8th year teaching at CTA.

3. What about CTA appealed to you when you first began teaching?
CTA appealed to me because as a recent graduate from GVSU, CTA offered me
a job. Now, I love the career I've chosen because of the CTA students and small class sizes.

4. What compelled you to become a math teacher?
I was called to the profession after listening to a retired teacher talking about her work with the Peace Corps. My dream is to work for the Peace Corps someday as a teacher.

5. What do you think makes CTA unique?
We have a small number of students at CTA and great staff members.

6. Could you tell us about any of your favorite pastimes?
   Golf, boating, and reading.

7. What goals do you have for yourself and your students?

Teaching
I strive to help my students to realize that they can do higher math - do not be scared of math! Math is like playing piano or playing a sport. The more you practice the better you get.

"A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils."
